All necessary material components and application overview required to install the “Rainbow-Land” series using this system shall be provided.

Qualifications: Unity Creations, LTD and “Unity” Surfacing Systems shall have manufactured and marketed this system in the United States and the world for a period of five (5) years. Installation: Labor shall be completed by “certified" installers and / or installation instructions shall be provided by “Unity”. Design & Detailing: The “Rainbow-Land” series is utilized in the safety zones under and around playground equipment as an impact absorbing resilient – unitary rubberized safety surfacing, flooring and paver application. This series is designed to meet ADA, CPSC and ASTM requirements. Acceptable substrates and substitute systems are: compacted crushed stone (RCA, stone dust), and surfacing systems. Unity Creations, LTD and “Unity” Surfacing Systems shall approve other substrates. Conditions of all substrates with respect to structural performance shall be evaluated and approved by the certified applicator prior to installing the “Rainbow-Land” series using a wood boarder and “Unity’s” Geo-Textile Fabric / Landscaping Mesh stapled to the sides overlapping the seams by 6” (inches).

 General Submittals

Unity Creations, LTD and “Unity” Surfacing Systems shall submit samples of the “Rainbow-Land” series in all the colors available.

General Delivery, Storage and Handling

All materials shall be delivered in good condition in its original unopened packages, bound and shrink wrapped with labels intact. All materials shall be protected from weather and shall be stored on temperatures of 32º F (0º C) or greater.

 General Job Conditions 

At the time of application ambient air temperature shall be 32º F (0º C) or greater. All materials shall be un-stacked and laid out prior to installing. All materials shall be protected from weather and other damage prior to application, during application and while glue is curing.

 General Alternatives & Allowances

 The architect and / or engineer, in writing, prior to bid date, shall approve any system or series, to be considered equal to “Rainbow-Land”

 Products: General 

All material components of the “Rainbow-Land” series shall be obtained from Unity Creations, LTD and “Unity” Surfacing Systems or its authorized distributors and / or manufacturers only.

Unity Creations, LTD and “Unity” Surfacing Systems: loose filled materials shall be produced on a buffings or crumb configuration of string like in size for buffings and a rounded configuration for crumb.. As a result, symmetry of colors, sizes and thicknesses will be seen on properly completed jobs (installations). Each bag is 0.1” (inches) to 0.3” wide and 0.5” (inches) to 1.0” high in size for the buffings and 0.5” (inches) round for the crumb, all for the “Rainbow-Land” series.

Shall be tested for shock attenuation under ASTM F 1292 G-Max and HIC based on the thickness of material and / or drop height requirement needed. Shall have the following technical specifications:

 The values shown represent current production laboratories taken test, which may vary when field-tested. “Unity’s” Geo-textile fabric / Landscape Mesh shall be a one-part roll, requiring no on site installations. Excellent strength, tenacity and grab for the sub-base surfacing installations.

Exclusions

Inspections: Prior to application of the Unity Creations, LTD and “Unity” Surfacing Systems: “Rainbow-Land” series, the installer shall evaluate the substrate’s structural performance. Notify all contractors, architects and engineers of all displacements. Work shall not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected and signed by the contractors, architects and engineers, and installation manual / guide as been read.

Installations: Unity Creations, LTD and “Unity” Surfacing Systems products shall be installed using the “super sack” system to deliver and install the “Rainbow-Land” series. A forklift may be needed to empty the “super sacks” or a shovel and wheel barrel may be needed as well. They are to be raked level as required to fit without any low spots. Installation manual / guide must been read by any and all installers.
