Play-Land is Unity's 2 1/4" (inch), 2 1/2" and 2 3/4" thick rubberized safety surfacing, flooring and paver products that are made from 100% recycled tires and rubber granules mixed with a dye to create many different color combinations. They have a male and female interlocking connection with bolt-down capabilities that does not require any additional items such as: pins, clips or fasteners that may create future problems when used in environments where children are present.

The double tiles-mats-blocks we offer have a double interlocking system that snaps and hooks into place with out the need for any other foreign objects. Its unique coned bottom (feet and/or legs) is expected to outlast even the toughest of usage. They are used to sit, walk, play or travel on. Passing a six (6) and seven (7) foot Drop Height Test and many other safety tests for your convenience. These products are found mostly on rooftops, playgrounds, daycare centers, recreational areas, pools & patios, walkways, marina & docks, assisted living complexes and in water and amusement parks because of their authentic interlocking capabilities that prevents product-to-product separation, curling and peeling as well as vandalism. They are also used in many other applications that are found indoors and outdoor such as acoustical areas for noise reduction.
SAFETY - QUALITY - DURABILITY - PERFORMANCE and LONG TERM VALUE is what "Unity's" products are all about. Compared with most other products on the market, our products are easy to clean and maintain. It does not displace during usage by anyone thus creating consistent shock absorbency all year round. The low life cycle costs makes for very good footing thus preventing leg fatigue. Unlike loose filled materials, Play-Land does not harbor foreign objects, such as glass. Their are no retaining edges needed and all of "Unity's" rubberized safety surfacing, flooring and paver products are accessible to the handicapped. They are also water permeable, easy to install and are fully warranted which makes for a superior product that no one in the industry can match. We can even offer you our transitional ramps as seen in this picture.
Loose filled materials such as, sand, pea gravel, mulch, wood-chips, bark, fiber and even sometimes: loose rubber, are highly dependent on maintenance. If not raked level by grounds keepers, it can often fall short of providing safety to an area. Loose filled products are home to cats and dogs for their liter boxes. Bee's, hornets, wasp's and other insects like to use these same surfaces as their new homes. Parents, teachers, and adults dislike the fact that loose filled materials will build up in a child's sneaker or shoe and is taken into a clean home, building or school.
It should also be noted that a fall onto these loose filled materials could also penetrate a child's protruding cut, which creates a burning or stinging sensation. Some loose filled materials are very dangerous to exposed skin, causing anyone to receive splinters upon falling or tripping to the surface below. Serious eye damage can be created by light airborne particles flying in the air on a windy day, after a fall to the ground below or even from someone throwing it. This is why architects, engineers, agencies and municipalities across the globe are planning future projects using our Play-Land products as the newest alternative to flooring and surfacing applications, even on rooftops.
Not only are they resilient, they can be installed over most existing surfaces and rooftops, but they are also independently laboratory tested exceeding ASTM (American Standard for Testing Material) and CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) safety guidelines and LEED certified under the USGBC for:
Fall Safety Heights , Skid Resistance, Fire Retardant, Weathering (Aging), Accessibility & Thermal Conductivity Tests and Wind Uplift.
Demand for rooftop and indoor applications using our products are becoming more popular then ever before. Many daycare centers, schools, high-rise building, agencies, and municipalities are being fitted with our Play-land products on rooftops, playgrounds and daycare centers as well as indoors, due to the limited space they have for recreational activities as seen here in this picture.

With it's unique conned bottom (feet or legs) and passing a skid resistance test (wet and dry), our resilient safety surfacing, flooring and paver products allows water to drip through the ports, and channel its way around the cones to the nearest drainage outlet allowing for "free flow drainage". As a result, the area can be used during and immediately after a rainfall. The high-density and quality of the raw materials used allows for heavy use, however, provides great comfort at all times.

The attractive look of the product stems from the wide variety of colors and thicknesses that are available. This allows for much less heat build up which commonly occurs on other surfaces. Anyone can plan for future projects using our Play-Land products as the newest alternative to the surfacing, flooring and paver industries. A UL Class "A" fire-rating version of the products is available prior to ordering.
